Hello again Linda!

In using one click upgrade, it is also advisable to deactivate WordPress Plugins first, if you have any, before you click that upgrade or update button. It is an issue of the WordPress Plugins' compatibility with the new WordPress version. It could happen that if the WodPress Plugin is not compatible with the new version, your pages might not show up properly after the one click upgrade.

Hi Linda,

Nowadays, some web host have that button where you just click, and pronto, your WordPress site is upgraded. But not all have that option, so you can only resort to upgrade it just like the way I do it or if there's no control panel to access.

But for me, even if there's an option to that, I always would like to do it manually. :) For one thing my web host doesn't have that upgrade button, only a one click installer. But I also prefer to install WordPress on my own. :)

There's also a WordPress Plugin to upgrade WordPress direct from your Admin Plugins menu, very useful for those who don't have that button to click or for those who have no control panel.

By the way, even if you use a one click upgrade, it is very important to backup the files and database, even the web hosts advise their clients to do that. You can never tell what might happen.

Thanks for the visit!

I have found that with Fantastico, upgrading WordPress becomes a breeze. I just log into my cpanel, click on Fantastico, see if my hosting has upgraded Wordpress. If it has, just clikck on 'update' and I'm done.
(at least can do this with CPanel and later versions of Wordpress.)

Is theres something I need to be aware of in doing this?
